My Writing Process – Blog Tour

I first want to say thank you to Sarah Daltry and her BLOG which is the reason I am part of this blog tour. I truly appreciate you taking the newest friendship and look forward to future collaborations.

What am I working on?

I am currently working on two different books: Vivienne & Zoie.  They are the sequels to Mama Katerina & Rayna.  The series are The Craft Society of Divination & The Norton Sisters
How does my work differ from others of its genre?
I have been told that my works feel like the reader is having a conversation with the Author.  I have a very different take on the world and with that my works reflect my eclectic taste.  I am not able to be put into a neat little box and my works fall under that same description.  I have a book of short stories, a book of poetry, 2 books of paranormal romance, a book of contemporary romance and a period piece that is a complete manifestation from the top of my head.  I think that pretty much sums it up.
Why do I write what I do?

I write what I do because I need to get the words on a page.  If I don't then I would probably be a crazy person, sitting rocking in a corner saying, "The voices, the voices. They just won't leave me alone." In all honesty, I write in hopes that my work will touch a person's heart or life and make them think a little differently.  I have multiple cultures in my books because that is what the world around me reflects.  I may have one book in my repertoire that reflects the "standard" make up for hero/heroine.
How does your writing process work?
It just does! (LOL)  In all actuality, I have some steps that I recently added to the process but it is what works for me.  I have a bit of OCD so everything has a place, even in my writing.

1. The idea forms: A document is created. If it is a series then a folder is created.  If not, then the document is just put into my works in progress folder.
2. Basis for the story is created.  An intro, story arc, possible conclusion (Yep, I might have this as soon as the idea comes)
3. The outline for the story is created.  All of the above are put into bulleted form
4. Character creation comes as the story is developed, unless the character came with the idea
Access is used to develop the character (s) and supporting crew
5. Review of story points, fleshing out characters and setting
6. As the work moves toward completion, then readers are contacted to review.
7. Corrections, plot changes, new developments fleshed out
8. Edits and a final read through
9. Completed work, set to be published
